Updated over 3 months ago

This guide walks you through the process of creating a course catalog entry using the provided interface. The information entered here will act as a sales page for your course, helping attract and convert learners.

Step 1: Start the Course Creation Process

  1. Choose "Add a Course":

    • On the Create Course page, select the Add a Course button. This will take you to the course catalog entry form.

Step 2: Fill in Course Details

Once on the "Add Course" page, fill in the following fields to create an engaging and informative course catalog entry:

  1. Upload Image:

    • Upload a JPG, PNG, WEBP, or AVIF file (max size: 25 MB). Using the recommended image size of 540px x 540px ensures visuals display optimally across devices and maintain a professional appearance on the platform.

  2. Course Title:

    • Enter a descriptive title for your course (e.g., "Mastering Graphic Design"). Focus on emphasizing outcomes or target skills that align with learner goals or aspirations. For instance, "Create Stunning Visuals with Advanced Photoshop Skills" connects the skills taught directly to the learner's potential achievements.

  3. Type:

    • Select one of the following:

      • College: If the course is associated with a college in the community. Select the college name from the dropdown.

      • Company: If offered by a business or organization. Select the company name from the dropdown.

      • Native: For standalone courses unique to the platform not associated with a college or company.

    • Note: Associating the course with a college or company ensures it appears on the relevant college or company page under the courses tab.

  4. Instructor:

    • Provide the name of the instructor or course facilitator.

  5. Course Fee:

    • Specify the course cost. Enter "0" for free courses. Offering a single, transparent price can make decisions easier for learners and set clear expectations.

  6. Duration:

    • Indicate the course duration (e.g., "6 weeks," "Self-paced").

  7. Language:

    • Select the language the course will be taught in.

Step 3: Specify Course Delivery and Options

  1. Study Mode:

    • Choose one:

      • On Campus: For in-person courses.

      • Online: For virtual learning.

  2. Scholarship Availability:

    • Indicate whether scholarships are available by selecting Yes or No.

Step 4: Optional Links for Learner Engagement

These links are essential for enhancing learner engagement and conversion rates by providing clear access points to key actions, such as scheduling consultations, applying for courses, or exploring additional resources.

  1. Book an Appointment Link:

    • Include a link for learners to schedule a meeting or consultation. Use a URL to a calendar booking service.

  2. Apply Now Link:

    • Provide a direct link to the application form or enrollment page. Use a URL to a registration platform.

  3. Learn More Link (Optional):

    • Add a link to additional information or resources about the course. Use a URL to a detailed course webpage.

  4. Register Interest (Optional):

    • Include a field allowing members to send an email directly to a specified admin team address.

Step 5: Add a Description and Tags

  1. Add a Description:

    • Write a concise and engaging description of the course. Highlight key learning outcomes, unique features, and the target audience (e.g., "This course will teach you advanced graphic design techniques, perfect for aspiring professionals and creative enthusiasts").

  2. Add Tags:

    • Include relevant tags to make your course easily searchable. Use specific and broad terms (e.g., "Graphic Design," "Creative Arts," "Photoshop Basics") to optimize visibility.

    • Tags are critical for the personalization feature in Neutopia. They help recommend courses to members based on their self-indicated interests, ensuring a tailored and engaging learning experience. For example, if a user selects interests in "Marketing" and "Data Analysis," they will receive course recommendations that align with these preferences.

Step 6: Review and Save

  1. Double-check all entered information to ensure accuracy and appeal by verifying the following:

    • Links are functional and direct users to the correct resources.

    • Descriptions clearly outline the course benefits and target audience.

    • Tags accurately reflect the course content for improved personalization.

    • Images are appropriately formatted and aligned with the course's theme.

  2. Submit the course entry to publish it in the catalog.

Best Practices for Creating a Compelling Course Catalog Entry

  • Use a High-Quality Image: Ensure the course image is visually appealing and relevant.

  • Craft a Descriptive Title: Make the course title specific and engaging.

  • Highlight Value: Include details like scholarships and a clear fee structure to help learners evaluate the course easily.

  • Add Direct Links: Make it easy for learners to apply or learn more by including the appropriate links.

By following these steps, you can effectively create a course catalog entry that attracts learners and drives enrollment. Use the Neutopia analytics tools, such as engagement tracking and click-through metrics, to monitor course interest. These tools allow you to identify popular courses, improve underperforming course pages, and tailor your offerings to better meet learner interests.
